Changes to the California Discovery Code

As of July 1, 2005, the code sections for the Discovery Act (CCP sections 2016 through 2036) will be renumbered.
Although the changes to the code are not substantive, the code has been reorganized in order that it better mirror the Federal Code of Civil Code of Civil Procedure. For example, a demand for exchange of expert information, presently governed by 2034 (c) will, after July 1, be governed by 2034.230 (a) and 2034.230 (b).
