Gina earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and was admitted to the Bar of the State of California in 2016. She graduated with concentrations in Criminal Justice and Public Interest Law. Gina was a certified law student with the Center for Juvenile Law and Policy where she represented inmates sentenced to life without parole in post-conviction re-sentencing cases, prepared inmates for parole eligibility hearings, and investigated innocence claims. Gina also clerked for the Capital Habeas Unit for the Office of the Federal Public Defender of the Central District of California, where she investigated and assisted in the preparation of habeas petitions. She also clerked for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Honorable Julia W. Brand of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California and was a research assistant for the American Civil Liberties Union. Gina earned her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she graduated with a major in Communication and minor in History.
